I met Margaret and Brad about a year ago. Margaret was living in Chigaco at the time, and Brad was in Minnesota. They traveled to a midpoint to celebrate their love a year later. After the two graduated from veterinarian school in 2010, Margaret moved to Chicago for her post-doctoral fellowship. Brad stayed in Minnesota for a residency. Obviously, they have a strong love for animals and at the time had acquired three horses, a cat, and two dogs. When Margaret moved, they split up the "kids" evenly. Today, Margaret is working in Baton Rouge at a job she moved to two months before the wedding. Brad is finishing his residency and then joining Margaret (who now has possession of all of the children) in Louisiana this August. I cannot begin to detail how absolutely relaxed, laid back, and fun the two of them were on their wedding day. They are both extremely smart and very strong people for being able to maintain something as beautiful as I saw while being over a thousand miles apart. Margaret mentioned how it had been the joke among their family and friends that they "live apart, get married, still live apart, and spend the first marriage year being 1,181 miles away from each other. Southwest & Delta Airlines LOVE me." Their ceremony was at Poquatuck Hall in Orient, and the reception was in Greenport at the home of Margaret’s aunt. It was a gorgeous day, and a perfect celebration of long distance love

It was about 38 degrees out on the Sunday after Thanksgiving when I met up with Amanda and Greg for their engagement photos near the water. Luckily, especially for Amanda who was dressed in an adorable white summer dress, I brought some warm beverages. After sharing a hot toddy the two of them were prepared for what turned out to be a really fun and easy shoot. Capturing how in love these two are was about twenty times easier than trying to figure out how to make the turkey with my sister for Thanksgiving with step by step instructions. I am so happy for these two and had such a blast spending the afternoon with this absolutely stunning couple!
Photographed a beautiful dinner on Wednesday night for the Manhattan Sailing Club. The dinner took place at 60 Pine Street. It was a exciting evening of drinks, food, and awards to celebrate the club's 25th year of sailing in New York Harbor. Special speakers included Dennis Connor, known as "Mr. Americas Cup." He was recently voted Americas Greatest Sailor by his peers at US Sailing. Noted for winning the bronze medal at the 1976 Olympics, two Star World Champions and four wins in the America's Cup. Also attending and speaking was Giovanni Soldini, Italy's greatest sailor and one of the world's greatest ocean racers. He came to Manhattan on his race boat, "Maserati" to challenge the New York to San Francisco sailing record. He has won the single-handed Round the World Race as well as many trans-Atlantic and other major events.
See some highlights from the dinner below. Rachael and Bobby were the perfect bride and groom. . They spent almost every minute of their wedding side by side. If they separated for even a short time, when they came back together they would always greet each other with the biggest smile and kiss like they hadn't seen each other for days. The wedding was held at Orient State Park right on the beach, and similar to their engagement session, it was quite difficult weather. When we did their photos back this past December, it was freezing out and the ground was covered in mud. The weather on their wedding day was extremely windy with scattered showers throughout the day. Despite this, the bride and groom were not phased and danced their way through the entire night. I absolutely loved shooting this wedding and being a part of such an awesome celebration of love.
I just returned from a fantastic trip to Europe where I participated in a car rally with my father. We drove his 1939 BMW around the alps in Northern Italy and then did some traveling to Germany and Switzerland. I can't wait to share all of the photos once they are uploaded, in the meantime here are a few snaps of the trip.
The love that poured out of the wedding was unfathomable. On Saturday before the ceremony I arrived at each of the homes where the bride and groom were getting ready and found them both completely at ease and relaxed. Watching the faces of the bride and groom as they walk towards each other down the aisle is always my favorite part of the ceremony, especially with these two. Chrissy and Matt had been high school sweethearts and could not have been more in love and happy on their wedding day. They were married in Our Lady of Good Counsel in Cutchogue, NY and then headed west to The Snapper Inn, located in Oakdale, NY for a gorgeous ceremony on the water. It was at the bride's home in the morning when Chrissy jumped on to the dirty old lawn mower in her backyard for a photo that made the day for me. She didn't care if her dress got dirty, or if she didn't look perfect. It wasn't about being flawless, it was about fun. The day was full of so much love and joy. I am so happy to have been able to be a part of it.
I had the privilege of spending a few hours with the very beautiful and talented CEO of Well-Kept a few months ago. Brianna DeRose is an extremely fashion-savvy young woman, but what makes her stand out from the others is her extremely chill personality. She is down to earth, sweet, funny, and charming. She is, to put it simply, fun. Her attitude is what confirms that she will continue to grow her company and be extremely successful in the future. I am so happy I had the chance to spend some time with her and catch a few of her contagious laughs. See shots below. See more information on Brianna and her site by clicking here!
Last Sunday I spent the morning with a beautiful little girl, Eva Rose and her mother. Starting in a sunflower field in a small long island farming town, to the beaches in Southold, I worked on capturing the gorgeous baby girl and her mother. The love between these two was so obvious as I watched them together. I hope to be able to take some more photographs of Eva once she is up on her feet and walking soon!
Had a fabulous time shooting Marissa Bigelli a few weeks ago. Also known as "Lady Divorce," Marissa is a super smart and gorgeous young woman that I had a lovely time enjoying a cocktail with and photographing along the bay in Orient Point.
A few weeks ago I ventured out to Jamaica, Queens to photograph the christening of an adorable little baby, Tom Harris. I arrived at St. Demetrios, a beautiful Greek Orthodox Church, where I was given a brief synopsis of the planned order of events. We would begin in the back of the church where Tom was held by his godmother for a service of prayers. Following this, he would be brought to the front of the church for more prayers before getting undressed and swaddled in a white cloth for the actual baptism. After the priest anointed him with oil, he would be immersed three times into a large basin of water to cleanse him of sin. The entire experience was extremely interesting since I have never been part of this type of baptism. Tom was such a good sport. I know I wouldn't have handled the dunking well if I was being submerged in cold water! One shot I took before he was submerged into the water made me really believe he knew what was coming; his face just looked like he was trying to say "wait, they are going to do what to me?” See the photos below for some highlights of the day!
